Gift of Going First

Give someone is the gift of going first.

When you take the first step, you break down barriers of resistance in the group.

You set the stage for what is acceptable. You grant permission for others to feel comfortable and safe.

The hardest step to take is the first one. It require intentionality. It takes effort. It requires a risk. You are being vulnerable and putting yourself out there for other to criticize, critique, or applaud.

But after you create the space, others can follow the path you carved. You have cleared the way and shown what to expect.

After the first step, you begin to build momentum while encouraging others to take their first step.

Give the gift of going first.
